Winter Inclement Weather Planning
Preparing for Winter Weather
As we move into the colder months, now is a good time to review how you will receive urgent weather information from Seattle Public Schools. If snow or ice in the Seattle area affects road conditions, schools may have schedule changes.
Based on weather conditions, we have two possible scenarios – two-hour late start with in-person learning or school buildings closed with students at home engaged in remote learning.
Families will receive communication from the district if we have a two-hour delay or are switching to remote learning. Student devices will be sent out in this instance.
Please check your email and have your student check their school email for information from Lawton Staff about our inclement weather schedule and Teams meeting’s links.
Initial device set up instructions can be found on the SPS website.
Logging into Remote Learning
All students will access remote learning via Seesaw and Microsoft Teams. Many students are currently using or have familiarity with these platforms. Classroom teachers will send specific information about accessing Teams links & Seesaw via email on remote learning days.
