At Lawton, staff regularly review student data to identify the needs of all students, including those who meet or exceed grade-level expectations. This process focuses on racial equity to ensure that all students receive the support they need. We offer different levels of support for Advanced Learners:

Tier 1

Tier 1 includes general education provided to all students in the classroom. This involves using methods like universal design for learning, differentiated instruction, and enrichment activities to support students’ talents and interests. 

Tier 2

Tier 2 provides extra support to increase learning depth and complexity. It includes activities that allow students to explore topics of interest and encourage student choice. This support may involve flexible grouping and technology tools that are part of the district’s curriculum.   

Tier 3

Tier 3 provides highly personalized support based on each student’s specific needs. This support is determined through individual assessments.
